Something a co-worker shared today, stuck with me all day.
He told me he had to fly to Boston because his friend committed suicide. He’s been friends with this couple since college, and he’s well into his 30’s now. He lived on the same dorm floor as the wife and went to school and worked with the husband at multiple jobs.
The couple was married and has 2 autistic boys, 10 and 12. The 10 year old still can only speak words, and forms no sentences. The husband gave up his career to be with the 2 boys, she is the main bread winner, she is a doctor and has her own practice.
SHE committed suicide. The 12 year old son is convinced he can build a time machine to tell his mom to not kill herself, then transport back to the present. He thinks he could have stopped her.
What a sad, sad world we live in.
